Matcha Drink Recipes


When some people first think of Matcha, the thing that immediately comes to their mind is drinking matcha green tea in the traditional way; hot. We love enjoying a hot cup of matcha, but there are countless ways to enjoy matcha green tea. Here are a few of our favorite matcha green tea drink recipes.


Hot Matcha Green Tea Latte


¾ cup of milk(may use any milk alternative)

¼ cup boiling water

1 teaspoon Nutra Matcha Green Tea powder

1 teaspoon honey


Place matcha powder in the bottom of your mug. Pour boiling water over it, whisking slowly as you add the water. Tip your mug and add the milk. Sweeten to taste.


Iced Matcha Green Tea Latte


12 ounces milk of choice

1 ½ teaspoons Nutra Matcha Green Tea powder

2 teaspoons honey

Splash of vanilla extract


Place all ingredients in a food processor and blend until the matcha is dissolved. Usually about 30-60 seconds. Pour over ice.


Matcha Ginger Cocktail


2 ounces vodka

2 teaspoons honey

¼ teaspoon Nutra Matcha Green Tea powder

8 ounces ginger kombucha

Lime wedges

Fresh mint


Add first three ingredients to a cocktail shaker. Shake until the matcha is dissolved - about 30 seconds. Add ice, and then shake for about 20 more seconds. Fill two glasses with ice, and pour into the glasses. Fill the rest of the glasses with kombucha, squeeze 1 lime wedge into each drink, and add mint leaves. For the best flavor, let the drink sit for 1-2 minutes before drinking.


Matcha lemondae


2 cups boiling water

½ teaspoon Nutra Matcha green tea powder

1 cup sugar

3 lemons

1 ½ quarts cold water


Add the matcha green tea powder and sugar to the boiling water and whisk until the matcha is dissolved. Add the cold water and the juice of the three lemons. Refrigerate for at least an hour before serving.


Coconut Matcha Smoothie


1 cup almond milk

1 teaspoon Nutra Matcha green tea powder

1 banana, frozen

1 Tablespoon coconut flakes

1 teaspoon vanilla


Blend all ingredients together.


Matcha Affogato


2 teaspoons Nutra Matcha green tea powder

6 tablespoons boiling water

½ cup vanilla ice cream(about two small scoops)


Whisk matcha green tea powder into the boiling water, until the matcha is dissolved(about 30 seconds). Add ice cream to a glass. Pour hot matcha over ice cream. Enjoy.


Matcha ice cubes


Prepare Nutra Matcha Green tea according to package directions. Once the matcha green tea powder is dissolved, pour into ice cube trays. Freeze. Serve in a glass with milk.


Pineapple Matcha Green Tea Smoothie


½ cup of milk of your choice

2 teaspoons Nutra Matcha Green Tea Powder

6 teaspoons boiling water

1 cup frozen pineapple


For best results, mix boiling water with the matcha green tea powder before adding to the other ingredients to be blended. This helps the matcha become fully incorporated in the smoothie. Whisk until the matcha is dissolved. Add matcha liquid, milk, and pineapple to blender. Mix until smooth.


Matcha Chia Tea Latte


1 cup milk of your choice

1 tsp maple syrup or honey

1 tsp Nutra Matcha Green Tea Powder

½ tsp cinnamon, plus extra for garnish

½ tsp vanilla bean paste

¼ tsp nutmeg


Combine all ingredients(except the garnish) in a blender. Once blended, add to a small saucepan over medium heat. Heat until it boils, or once it has reached your desired temperature. Pour into a mug, and top with frothed milk and sprinkle with reserved cinnamon.


Iced Matcha Salted Caramel Latte (makes two servings)


1 tbsp Nutra Matcha Green Tea Powder

1 tsp ground vanilla bean

2 tbsp coconut sugar

1 ½ cup coconut milk

½ cup ice


1 cup coconut milk(for milk layer)


4 tbsp salted caramel sauce(recipe will follow)

2-3 cups of ice


Blend first set of ingredients. Set aside. Add 2 tablespoons of salted caramel sauce to each cup. Fill the rest of the cup with ice. Pour ½ cup of coconut milk into each glass over the salted caramel sauce. Top with matcha mixture.


Salted Caramel sauce recipe


1 can full fat coconut milk

½ sugar

½ tsp salt

½ tbsp coconut oil

½ tbsp vanilla extract


Bring first three ingredients to a boil, and then lower to a simmer for 30-45 minutes. Once sauce has reached a dark amber color, remove from the heat. Add last two ingredients and stir to combine. Can be stored in a glass jar in refrigerator for two weeks.


Matcha Honey Hot Chocolate


2 ½ cups milk of choice

2 tablespoons honey

16 ounces white chocolate

2 teaspoons Nutra Matcha Green Tea Powder

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

¼ teaspoon salt


Combine all ingredients in a large saucepan. Stir until the chocolate is melted and the entire mixture is heated to the desired temperature. Serve immediately. It’s great with mini marshmallows!


Blueberry Mint Matcha Latte


(this recipe is perfect with our blueberry flavored matcha green tea powder!)


1 cup milk of choice

¼ teaspoon Nutra Matcha Green Tea Powder

¼ cup frozen blueberries

1 tablespoon honey or real maple syrup

4-5 fresh mint leaves


Add all ingredients to blender. Blend until the mixture is frothy and combined. Serve over ice.
